Description
The 2015 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin is available now and features the same design as last year’s coin. Each of these coins will be minted in 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and contain a face value of 1.5 Euros.
Designed and produced by the renowned Austrian Mint, the 2015 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin is a stunning tribute to one of Austria’s most revered cultural attractions—the Austrian Philharmonic Orchestra. Based in Vienna, the nation’s capital and one of Europe’s premier cultural centers, the orchestra has been performing to great acclaim since 1842. It has long been regarded as one of the finest orchestras in the world, and these elegant coins celebrate the orchestra’s contribution to Austrian culture and history.
Struck with one troy ounce of .999 pure silver, the 2015 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin sports an eye-catching mirrored edge. The obverse side of each coin features a pipe organ from the world-famous Viennese Concert Hall, the home of the Austrian Philharmonic Orchestra. This side also features the inscription “Republik of Osterreich” along with its face value, weight, and purity stamps. The reverse side of these coins features a collection of musical instruments including the harp, cello, violin, and French horn. This side is inscribed with “Wienner Philharmoriker.”
