The proof coins in the American Gold Eagle Series come in four weights. These weights are the same as the BU versions of the coin, but with limited mintage figures available each year. The 2022 Proof Gold Eagle Series includes a 10,000-coin set and all four coins available for individual purchase. Today, 2022-W 1/4 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins are available.

In 2022, the US Mint offers the 2022 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle with a maximum mintage of 14,500 gold coins. From within this mintage, only 4,500 coins are available for individual purchase. The rest are available to you in a four-coin set alongside the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins.

All of these 2022-W 1/4 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you individually from the US Mint. The coins are packaged in acrylic capsules with a presentation box for shipping and an outer shipper for the coin and case. There is a Certificate of Authenticity available with each coin. These proof coins have a frosted design element and a mirrored background field.
